It started with socks.

I love socks. I love socks so much, if I was rich I would buy socks and wear them once, wash them and then donate them to the less fortunate and never wear a pair of socks more than once.

One time, I bought Keds socks. The no-show ones. It was a three pack.

Imagine my dismay when there were only 5 socks in the pack.

2+2+1 does not equal 6, and this is particularly unfortunate if you have two feet because it amounts to 33% fewer days of clean socks unless you are ok with one foot being sockless. Ew.

So I wrote a letter asking them to please send me a sock to complete my collection and mailed it snail mail. And then I forgot about it. That was in september of my freshman year of college.

In May the following spring, I got a package. I wasn't expecting a package. It was during finals. I thought, "Somebody LOVES me!"

And in it was a pack of Keds no-show socks. A three pack. With SIX socks in it. It came with a letter thanking me for being a loyal customer, and apologized for the delay. Little did they know I'm a big fan of delayed gratification and a company can go from the top of my hit list to the top of my must buy list with a very small and inexpensive gesture. Everyone has their price, and mine obviously is not that much.

And now I have 11 socks :) 11>6. I love the Keds company and I continue to buy 3 packs of no-show socks to this day. Really, they're great socks.
